FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BRONX, NEW YORK –
The Fordham Road Business Improvement District
(BID) is proud to announce the first ever Go
Green campaign on Fordham Road. The BID has
partnered with 1199SEIU Child Care Corp. to
organize this event. Earlier this month, the BID
and children from the 1199SEIU Child Care Corp.
conducted business and resident surveys to gauge
recycling and environmentally friendly practices
in the Fordham community. The children have been
engaged in numerous science projects in an
effort to learn the effects of pollution and
lack of recycling. Photos and information from
these projects are currently on display at the
Bronx Library Center at 310 East Kingsbridge
Road. Results of all collected surveys will be
available at the fair in Poe Park after the
walk. In addition, the BID, the NYC Department
of Sanitation and the NYC Department of Parks
and Recreation will be partnering to place
outdoor recycling receptacles at select
locations on Fordham Road until the end of June
2008.
The Fordham Road BID, 1199SEIU Child Care Corp.,
Banco Popular, Sou Latino and The Networks
Organization will be co-sponsoring a pre-Go
Green Walk networking event on Tuesday, May 13,
2008 from 5-8PM at 7One8 Lounge at 3233 East
Tremont Avenue (between Waterbury and Whittemore).
Special thanks to our co-sponsors:
NYC Council Majority Leader Joel Rivera,
1199SEIU Child Care Corporation, Affinity Health
Plan, Banco Popular, BronxCare, Bronx Library
Center, Driscoll, NYC Department of Parks and
Recreation, NYC Department of Sanitation and The
