APRIL 22, 2019 marks the birth of the
modern environmental movement in 1970, channeling the energy of the anti-Vietnam war protest movement and putting environmental concerns on the front page.
It was Rachel Carson's New York Times best seller Silent Spring in1962, that set the stage for change. Selling more than 500,000 copies in 24 countries, the popularity of this book began to raise awareness and concern for living organisms, the environment and links between pollution and  public health. Unlike the fate of the dinosaurs, the rapid extinction of species in our world today is the result of human activity.  If we don't act now, extinction may be humanity's most enduring legacy. Our mission is to diversify, educate and activate the environmental movement worldwide.  Our theme for Earth Day 2019 is to Protect Our Species...

New York Restoration Project continues to partner with community organizations throughout the five boroughs to give away hundreds of  free trees to New Yorkers during the spring and fall seasons:

Parade, followed by an Easter Egg
Hunt and family fun activities on

The parade features elaborate up-cycled costumes and kicks-off a day of
exhibition games, Easter Egg hunting,
free food (while it lasts) crafting work-
shops, composting, and fun ways to participate in saving the planet. Rain
