Welcome to the Norwood News, a bi-weekly community newspaper serving the northwest Bronx communities of Norwood, Bedford Park and Fordham Bedford.

The Norwood News, founded in 1988 by Mosholu Preservation Corporation, a not-for-profit affiliate of Montefiore Medical Center, began as a monthly and grew to a bi-weekly in 1994. In January of 1998, with a grant from The New York Foundation, the paper expanded significantly to serve the community bordered by Bedford Park Boulevard and Fordham Road.

The Norwood News exists to foster communication among citizens and organizations and to be a tool for neighborhood development efforts.

We intend for the website to be an extension of this mission and we believe people outside our readership area will find our articles, many of them with citywide policy implications, interesting and useful.
